<pj>En application du règlement (CE) n°104/2000, ORTHONGEL en tant qu'organisation de producteur a « pour objectif d'assurer l'exercice rationnel de la pêche [...] en prenant les mesures propres à [...] 4) encourager les méthodes de pêche qui favorisent une pêche durable » (article 5.b). Cette disposition invite donc l'organisation à établir, sur la base d'un commun accord, des règles communes de bonne conduite et de durabilité.
<pj>Par ailleurs, en application de l'article R. 921-35. - III du décret n° 2014-1608 du 26 décembre 2014 relatif à la codification de la partie réglementaire du livre IX du code rural et de la pêche maritime, ORTHONGEL reçoit chaque année mandat de la DPMA pour gérer les sous-quotas de thons tropicaux des adhérents de l'OP (définis par arrêté de la DPMA portant répartition des quotas de pêche annuels accordés à la France) par des mécanismes appropriés et transparents d'attribution des possibilités de pêche (conformément à l'article 29.3 du Règlement (UE) n° 1380/2013 du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 11 décembre 2013 relatif à la politique commune de la pêche).
